Gilvesy Mogyorós Sauvignon Blanc, 2018

It’s rare to find Sauvignon Blanc on volcanic hills, but the experiment started in the 1970’s proved to be a success. The Mogyorós vineyard is located on the lower northern slopes of Szent György-Hegy, and its cooler microclimate benefits the grapes during the hot summer months. Spontaneously fermented and aged on fine lees, the wine develops exotic tropical notes with age. Mogyorós typically displays a saline finish accompanied by refreshing acidity.
