Heimann Kadarka „Céh Kereszt”, 2017

Excessive selections have made this wine possible. New clones were collected from 100-year-old vineyards all over Hungary and then only the best were propagated. Strict selection was applied at the manual harvest, 15 lots were separately vinified and only the best lots were blended in 2017.

Kadarka is an ancient red variety of Hungary, once grown on 60% of the country. Today, it’s below 1%, due to its heterogeneity and high susceptibility to Botrytis. A handful of growers take the variety seriously and are working on creating expressive, unique Kadarka wines.
