Zweigelt is a typical Austrian grape variety. It was created by Dr. Fritz Zweigelt in 1922 by crossing St. Lawrence and Blaufränkisch. As the Fischer family also owns estates in Austria, they have a lot of experience with the variety. Our 2020 Zweigelt is characterised by fresh, bursting red fruits on the nose, mainly ripe cherries and lilac. The palate is aligned with the nose, offering the expected notes: ripe cherry, cherry. This is light, easy drinking red wine with medium tannins. An excellent accompaniment to Hungarian cold dinners, boiled beef, ham, tomato pasta.
