Tokaji Late Harvest Andante, 2016

The late harvest Andante is a very special type of botrytized sweet white wine. It shares some of the characteristics of a 6 puttonyos Aszú, but it was aged in oak barrels only for 4-5 months in order to preserve more fruit and freshness.
Heavily botrytized bunches were picked by hand in the middle of November.

Andante is a poised, round wine with spot on acid-sugar balance. The residual sugar is high at 183 g/l – that’s aszú territory -, but it is coupled with vibrant acidity. Andante shows aromas of acacia honey and apricot combined with the typical notes of barrel ageing, followed by a long, elegant finish.

This wine is produced only in very special vintages, once or twice a decade.
