Barta Anna Selection Három Hordó, 2018

The moderate climate of the region facilitates a slow and balanced ripening process which results in grapes that are perfect for producing wines brimming with fruit and zesty acidity. The winery’s vineyards form one unbroken piece of land and are cultivated in an environmentally friendly way. In the cellar the goal is to produce wines with minimal intervention, respecting and assisting natural processes and never hurry them.

Ruby core with purple rim. The nose displays forest fruits and sweet spices. The palate offers wild strawberry, blackberry and ripe sour cherry; the rich aromas are complemented by cinnamon and hints of wet earth. It’s a round and complex wine with smooth tannins and a medium level of acidity. Thanks to the careful selection of the barrels this complex red has retained its fruity character.

The Kékfrankos of the Három hordó was aged in 500 liter barrels and it includes some wine from our youngest Kékfrankos plantation. The rest is Cabernet Franc and Zweigelt. It spent almost a whole year in oak but you wouldn’t notice because older, large barrels were used.
