The Halas vineyard is a very compact, clayey, rhyolite-tuff vineyard site. The organically cultivated parcels cover 1 ha, one third is planted with old vines (over 60 years old), and these provide the grapes for this wine. The grapes were harvested from the middle of September at 2018. Only healthy, fully ripped bunches are used in this wine. After the gentle pressing and must settling, the must was racked to barrels for fermenting in the cellar. 30% new barrels and 70% third-quarter-filled local 220 liter “szerednyei” barrels were used. Slow, spontaneous fermentation. Bottled in April. The batches the were aged in bottle for at least another year.
